The City of London Corporation is committed to responsible business practices and we are delighted that Guildhall Events have been awarded a Silver Award from Green Meetings. This formally recognises Guildhall’s sustainable and responsible practices from a globally recognised scheme as an indicator of strong environmentally-friendly practices and as a hallmark of ‘green quality’.

Guildhall’s application covered over 70 indicators across 15 sustainability goals, the criteria of which aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and covered areas such as catering, waste and recycling, responsible and ethical procurement practices, energy usage and efficiency, and equality, diversity and inclusivity to name just a few.

In assessing Guildhall’s application on sustainable and responsible business practices a Green Tourism sustainability expert, qualified to IEMA standards, commented that Guildhall showed ‘Excellent knowledge and awareness of all aspects of sustainability on show throughout’ and that ‘Guildhall have done an excellent job in achieving the Green Meetings Silver award following on from their first GreenCheck Assessment. The team…have displayed a good understanding of sustainability and awareness of opportunities and challenges associated with running a responsible event space business.’ They also noted that on Equality, Diversity, & Inclusivity, Guildhall displayed ‘Excellent commitment to ensuring the Guildhall is welcoming and accessible to all.’
